Happy Digestion Smoothie Recipe

One of the ways we can give our digestive system a rest is through liquid-only days one day (or half day) a week. On these liquid-only days, it is recommended to consume an 8-ounce glass of liquid each hour. Herbal teas, infused waters, vegetable broths, "green" juices, and fruit smoothies are a few great ways to keep yourself feeling full and replenished.

Below is a great fruit smoothie recipe to enjoy on a liquid-only day!

Ingredients:

  • 1 large cup of frozen pineapple
  • ½ large frozen banana
  • ½ cup of water
  • ½ cup of coconut water
  • ¼ cup packed parsley leaves, fresh
  • 2 tablespoons of avocado
  • 1 teaspoon of fresh, grated ginger
  • 1 lemon slice for garnish

Add the above ingredients to a blender and blend on the highest setting until smooth!
